The Edge-Integrity of Cartesian Products
نویسندگان
چکیده
The edge-integrity of a graph measures the difficulty of breaking it into pieces through the removal of a set of edges, taking into account both the number of edges removed and the size of the largest surviving component. We develop some techniques for bounding, estimating, and computing the edgeintegrity of products of graphs, paying particular attention to grid graphs. Some results on vertex-edge Wiener polynomials and indices of graphs
The vertex-edge Wiener polynomials of a simple connected graph are defined based on the distances between vertices and edges of that graph. The first derivative of these polynomials at one are called the vertex-edge Wiener indices. In this paper, we express some basic properties of the first and second vertex-edge Wiener polynomials of simple connected graphs and compare the first and second ve...
متن کاملEdge-transitive products
This paper concerns finite, edge-transitive direct and strong products, as well as infinite weak Cartesian products. We prove that the direct product of two connected, non-bipartite graphs is edge-transitive if and only if both factors are edgetransitive and at least one is arc-transitive, or one factor is edge-transitive and the other is a complete graph with loops at each vertex. Also, a stro...
متن کاملA Survey on Complexity of Integrity Parameter
Many graph theoretical parameters have been used to describe the vulnerability of communication networks, including toughness, binding number, rate of disruption, neighbor-connectivity, integrity, mean integrity, edgeconnectivity vector, l-connectivity and tenacity. In this paper we discuss Integrity and its properties in vulnerability calculation. The integrity of a graph G, I(G), is defined t...
متن کاملEdge-transitive lexicographic and Cartesian products
In this note connected, edge-transitive lexicographic and Cartesian products are characterized. For the lexicographic product G ◦H of a connected graph G that is not complete by a graph H, we show that it is edge-transitive if and only if G is edge-transitive and H is edgeless. If the first factor of G ◦H is non-trivial and complete, then G ◦H is edge-transitive if and only if H is the lexicogr...
متن کاملEdge-disjoint spanners in Cartesian products of graphs
A spanning subgraph S= (V ,E′) of a connected graph G= (V ,E) is an (x+ c)-spanner if for any pair of vertices u and v, dS(u, v) dG(u, v) + c where dG and dS are the usual distance functions in G and S, respectively. The parameter c is called the delay of the spanner. We study edge-disjoint spanners in graphs, focusing on graphs formed as Cartesian products. Our approach is to construct sets of...
